Special collector's lathe cut 7" EP
Kofe is the lost and found gem of Russian (Soviet) new wave. Both songs were recorded in 1986 in Leningrad (Saint Petersburg) and remastered by Martin Bowes at The Cage, UK in 2013. At that time Kofe didn't get a chance to release their songs officially (just two demos were recorded from 1984 to 1986), however many (often scandalous) live gigs and episode in the cult Soviet movie The Burglar made them famous in Leningrad's musical underground.
First track is absolutely new romantic hit in the vein of early Duran Duran and A Flock Of Seagulls wich even had some rotations on Russian TV in 80s and later was covered by many other artists from indie rock to pop.
Second track on contrary shows us more gloomier side of the band with Mike Karn style bass line and minimal synth ornaments combained with surreal lyrics.
Eight minutes of the pure new wave collector's pleasure!
